Recenzii
Freud is a modern literary rarity: a born storyteller, poetic but never overwrought; thoughtful but never showy
As close to a perfect novel as anything I've read in a long time
Full of pitch-perfect observation, spiced with wry humour
You know how it is when a writer draws into a place and you begin to feel it is more substantial than the one around you? That is how this book was for me. I truly loved it
In a culture which dins with brashness and self-advertisement, attending to Esther Freud's still, truthful voice becomes not only a pleasure but a necessity
A highly talented writer
She describes monumental life events simply, which makes them more powerful
