I Don't Want to Be Small

Autor Laura Ellen Anderson
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 9 aug 2021 – vârsta până la 7 ani
One little kid can't stand being short, until he finds a new friend and learns that each of us has something to offer, regardless of size!

No! It's not fair.
I don't want to be small.
I want to grow faster
so I can be tall!

Being shorter than your friends, your brother, and so many other people can be tough. It's hard to see in a crowd, you can't always ride the fun rides, and sometimes even the clothing you want to wear is too big! But worst of all, being small means that it's impossible to get your teddy bear down when it gets stuck in a tree. What's a short kid to do? It's only when a taller friend comes along and offers to help that he realizes there's no such thing as one size fits all--and just how wonderful that is.

In this bright and playful rhyming picture book filled with vibrant, cheerful illustrations, readers learn that being short, tall, or anything in between can be plenty of fun.

Recenzii

Rhyming text and funny illustrations add to the enjoyment of this book about self-worth and self-esteem.
This is a great book to read aloud and share, and humorous illustrations make it a book that can be read and enjoyed time and time again with lots of laughs.
The humour in this book is super and very appealing, as are the rhyming couplets. Lots of the action is in the illustrations - comic pictures of children with expressive faces. The theme of being able to accept your body as it is remains current and important, as is the need for friends who are willing to help: 'We play games and laugh for the rest of the day - I'm small and she's tall and we're perfect that way.' Good fun!
In a fit of rage, an incident occurs that can only be remedied by extra height. After exhausting and often hilarious efforts to grow taller, the protagonist meets a kindly tall friend, and together they realise they are indeed perfect just as they are
