A very young American woman leaves home in the late 1970s and starts a new life working in an English theatre-just the right environment to foster heady feelings of romance and heightened reality in her own life. Savouring her independence and enjoying the new adventure, she falls under the spell of a dashing, high-spirited young journalist, who is having trouble figuring out just who he is.
