Karen is a 23 year old woman who became an escort after leaving her country home and moving to the city. Although reminding herself that she should never become emotionally attracted to a client, she develops strong feelings for a man she knows as Steve. Karen is shocked when contacted by a homicide detective and told the man's name is not Steve, and he's thought to have been stabbed and thrown off a bridge. She's even more surprised when Steve calls her, very much alive, and reveals his true identity as Howard, an FBI agent. Karen is angry upon learning he had lied to her about many things.
