Jim and Cathy Ferguson were each other's first and only love. When they get married and their young daughter is born, they seem to have a lifetime of happiness ahead of them. One bitterly cold night, while on a business trip, Jim spots a lone, young and pregnant lady-of-the-night. She is shivering uncontrollably, but Jim does not stop. He feels guilty and tells Cathy during his nightly Telephone call. With Cathy's prompting and the help of a pastor and a police sergeant, he attempts to help the young girl escape from her pimp. The Car, Jim and the young lady vanish without a trace. Cathy has visions in two dreams of what has happened to Jim and believes he is still alive. Without knowing what has really happened and only able to share his love in her dreams, Cathy, has other dreams of Jim, as she and her mother refuse to accept what everyone is trying to prepare them for.
