I Started Crying Monday

Fourteen-year-old Julie starts crying on Monday when things go badly at school. Things are not much better at home, with an alcoholic father and a mother beginning to lash out in frustration. Things soon go from bad to worse, when Julie's mother fails to pick her and brother Toby up from school, dashing her hopes of a new life.

She is told there is an accident, but something more is wrong. Her family is dead, her father in hospital and Jessie her dog is not there to greet her.
