In the 1960s, Ian stays with his aunt in California, awaiting the outcome of his mother's risky surgery. Alone, afraid, and far from home, he starts 4th grade at a new school. Hiding from a bully, he gets locked inside the school one weekend. There, he finds an ancient journal of a boy who a century before survived the California Gold Rush, a ship-wreck, and the Civil War. Central America and its buried California gold beneath the ocean. Ian's Golden Passage is Tanya's third pub-lished work. Her first book, Ten Chimneys, was about a little girl growing up in the kettle moraine of Wisconsin. Her second book, A Grandparent's Right, was written for grandparents who are raising their grandchildren. She lives in Yorba Linda, CA, with her blended family: her husband, her daughter, her granddaughter, her dog, Moose, and a hamster, a bird, and a fish. Constance trains teachers in our California elementary schools. She has been an educator most of her life. She is a part-time faculty member at California State University in Fullerton, CA. Constance has two grown children, Bo and Audra, and lives in Yorba Linda, CA, with her husband, Eric.
