This is Will Melnyk's fourth published volume of poems, following The Promise of all Living, Ukraina, and The Fairie Door. The poems in this volume were written between the autumns of 2012 and 2013 for his weblog, Laird William & Lady Glyn of Glencoe. They include reflections upon life at RavenOak in Pennsylvania, and in the central highlands of Scotland. Some few are substantially revised from earlier works, and include poems written in Ukraine in 2006 and first published in Ukraina, Songs of a Beloved Land. Although they represent a full turning of the year, and in two very different worlds, the poems are here printed randomly, so as not to prejudice the reader with ideas of chronology or place. Sort them out in that way, if you wish, but let each stand on its own in a moment of time and place. As we live in this world of wonder, so much broader and deeper than our meager abilities of imagination, we encounter joy and sorrow, hope and despair, laughter and tears; never certain which we may encounter from one moment to the next as we turn the pages of life.
