Notă biografică

Shelly Rachanow comes from a long line of butt-kicking women. Her grandmother raised four kids on her own and worked outside the home at a time when women weren¿t supposed to do either. Her mother routinely fought for better sidewalks, programs, and laws for the disabled while still managing to have time for her children (not to mention dinner on the table) every night.

In late 2003, Shelly decided to follow her dream and move to California so she could write books that inspire and empower others to live the life of their dreams. She is thrilled that If Women Ran the World, Sh*t Would Get Done, her first book, is all about celebrating women and the fabulous things we do. And while it¿s true that the title came to Shelly in a flash one morning when her ordinarily-supportive boyfriend refused to take out the trash, the real inspiration was Shelly¿s mom and the millions of women around the world who do so much for so many each and every day.

Shelly's books have been reviewed or featured in the Sydney Morning Herald, New Zealand Woman¿s Weekly, HuffPost, Library Journal (Starred Review), Sierra Club, Midwest Book Review, Women¿s Radio News and others.

Shelly currently lives in Southern California, and she loves speaking to women¿s groups around the country about all the amazing things women do!
