In the summer of 1946, sixteen-year-old Peter Wilson lives a normal life in Winnipeg, Canada. He loves, among other things, his family, his friends, and hockey. But Canada is fighting a war alone, a war that it is destined to lose. There is only a matter of time until the nation's defeat and because of that, Peter, his younger brother, and his friends are conscripted to fight a war they never wanted to fight.
