Notă biografică

Gary Rosen was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1950. A year later Gary, along with his mother and father (who preceded Gary as an NYPD Gold Shield Detective), moved into one of the Premier New York City Housing Authority Projects known as the Sheepshead / Nostrand Project. This was a brand new complex, consisting of a number of six floor buildings. The Housing Authority put new rules into place which included employment verification, background checks and other stipulations before they would rent an apartment. As Gary's sister was not born yet, his parents rented out a two bedroom unit. In these projects, just about every kid's father was a cop, fireman or in another type of civil service job. Gary's world collapsed in 1962 when his parents divorced. Both his parents remarried and he began living with his mother in Howard Beach, Queens. Spending much of his time with the friends he missed in Brooklyn, Gary bought his first motorcycle at age 16. So began his love of bikes, with Harley Davidson his choice of motorcycle, which he continued to ride for 54 years - through his many years serving in the NYPD and thereafter. Now, as an older rider, Gary has recognized that his reflex time has slowed, so he's deferred to safety and sold his last bike. Though a big piece of his life has gone, to fill this void he bought a bright red Chevrolet Camaro Convertible which he drives today, with the top always down, weather permitting. Upon his move to Florida, Gary became active in several 10-13 Clubs, where he continues his relationships with former fellow New York City Police Department members. Gary never forgot where he came from - Brooklyn, New York.
