Frederick Bauer after the rejection of his eighth symphony, and suffeing a protracted visit from his prima-Donna sister, escapes to Italy for a holiday. As fate would have it he finds some peace in Piedmont and while working on another composition he faces more than he bargained for as does his orchestra, his sister and those in Wiebach .
