André Gide brought a new breath to the literature of his century. Thanks to his sincerity and frankness, he attracts the admiration of his readers who remain under the influence of his works. Gide deals with different subjects and uses incommunicability to give a course to his narrated stories. He skillfully conveys the necessity of communication, which is of vital importance. Only with good communication can the characters transfer their feelings, thoughts and ideas to others. The absence of the transfer of feelings leads the characters to the edge of the precipice. Either they suffer terribly while becoming more and more depressed, or they throw themselves to their doom by committing suicide. In his works, Gide denounces on the one hand the vices of society and on the other hand he draws our attention to the evil that resides in certain people. He tries to bring out the indulgence, tolerance and respect that are the hallmarks of a civilized society. In this way, he tries to educate his readers implicitly so that they are more aware of the society in which they live.
