Recenzii

In its second edition Information Literacy has gained from users' experiences and feedback. Although some areas are updated with new terms, processes, and applications the book maintains its original clear format. The first chapters are a thoughtful discussion of learning theories and research and how they impact students. This is followed by basic research skills and strategies delivered in a direct and common sense manner with 'think guides' and real-life research projects. The remaining chapters cover source materials from databases and the Internet. The book ends with appendices that give rubrics and projects. The chapter that makes me want to jump up and down and cheer was 'Finding Works in Library Collections.' Ercegovac points out that research shows that the more you know about a subject the better your research results will be. Our jobs are more important now than ever, and this book is a great tool to help us build the next generation. Index. Highly Recommended.
This book is highly recommended for all high school and college librarians.
