Integrated River Basin Management: Practice Guideline for the IO Table Compilation and CGE Modeling: SpringerBriefs in Environmental Science

Autor Xiangzheng Deng, Yi Wang, Feng Wu, Tao Zhang, Zhihui Li
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 2 iun 2014
Establishing multi-scale optimal water allocation modes which takes the enhancement of utilization efficiency as core is a research hotspot for the international water resources management of river basins. This book aims to introduce how to compile the first set of county-level IO tables involving resources and environment accounts with integrated datasets which contains the spatio-temporal data of water and land resources, ecology and social economy in the river basin and to construct an integrated Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model with resources and environment accounts embedded, which can be used to quantitatively depict the key process parameters of the water-ecology-social economy coupling system. Thus, this book can provide decision support for integrated river basin management, and scientific support for the sustainable development of social economy, eco-environment and water resources.

Notă biografică

Professor Xiangzheng Deng is a senior research fellow from the Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research areas include Land-Use/Land Cover Change, Hydrology, Ecosystem Service, Urbanization and Global Environmental Change and Regional Sustainable Development. He has published more than one hundred pieces of papers. As a leading scientist, he is presiding over quite a lot of projects including the grants from Natural Science Foundation of United States, Natural Sciences Foundation of China, Ministry of Science and Technology of China, etc. He develops a couple of models, e.g., Dynamics of Land System (DLS) model, Computable General Equilibrium of Land Use Change (CGELUC) model and Dynamic Agricultural Production (DynaAP) model, which are capable of simulating the dynamics and consequences of land system changes and which are widely used in land planning and environment planning.
