Life on a US Navy Destroyer during the height of the 1950's Cold War is explored through lively vignettes of humorous, ironic and tragic events in Atlantic, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Indian and Red Sea waters. The author served as Midshipman on the USS Iowa (BB61) and the USS Moale (DD693) and Ensign, Lieutenant (jg) and Lieutenant in charge of Firecontrol, Anti-submarine warfare, Gunnery, and Operations on the USS Cotten (DD669) based in Newport, RI.
