Is Religion Irrational?

Autor Keith Ward
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 21 mai 2019
In the first decade of the twenty-first century, atheism took on a new lease of life. Following the popularity of books by big-name authors such as Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins, a concerted campaign--termed new atheism--grew across Britain and the United States, promoting the claim that atheism was the only reasonable form of belief.
Though the initial attention around the new atheist movement has since quieted, its claims and the questions raised by them no doubt persist. In Is Religion Irrational?, bestselling author Keith Ward confronts the new atheists' charges head on, arguing that belief in God is actually more reasonable than atheism. Addressing the question of why belief in God matters in the first place, Ward guides us through some of the biggest conundrums over today's big questions: What is God?
Does God cause evil?
Is the universe intelligently designed?
Are faith and reason incompatible?
How does God act in the world?
Is there a future for religion?

Whatever your opinion about God or religion, this is a book that will challenge and inform, making it essential reading on the current cultural war between atheism and belief.
