Notă biografică
Elizabeth Peña (Lozada) has worked in the Texas public education system for 13
years and holds a Texas Education Agency (TEA) certification in Special
Education and Spanish. She is married to Wilfredo, a retired U.S. Army
paratrooper and they share three wonderful sons together: Isaac, Noah, and
Matthew. Her sons are the inspiration for the stories about the arctic babies in
her children's book series. As an educator and avid environmentalist, she firmly
believes that the earlier children are exposed to the beautiful environment and
animals that share this planet with us, the more they will value and appreciate
the changes that must be made to save our planet and animal species from
extinction.
Elizabeth currently resides in San Angelo, Texas with her husband and dogs
Scrappy and Gummy. This is her third book in the Arctic Babies Books series. She
hopes that her books will resonate with and inspire children of all reading levels
to discover the joys of reading. Mexican Multidisciplinary Artist, Melisa "MALIZE" Zumaya, works with diverse media, allowing various expressions in murals, illustrations, paintings, screen printing, and sculptures. Her methods and materials are often whimsical and express how nature intertwines with animals, humans, and the elements within the planet. She captures what it is like the first time we see nature, showing connections between ourselves and our planet. She creates aesthetic art that shows the importance of our original connection to our world, our feelings, and how we interact with others.
