Recenzii

Williamson's commentary on Isaiah 1-27, of which this is the second volume, could be called the gold standard for the series. The range of scholarship and critical thought involved is dauntingly huge, and it is hard not to see this as the definitive critical commentary on these chapters of Isaiah for a generation.
In brief, it's amazing. It's a fitting addition to one of the most important and impressive commentary series' yet done . This is a very good commentary and it should sit on the shelf of every scholar of the Hebrew Bible; not simply because it is exceedingly useful, but because it is a model, and exemplar, of the art and science of the commentary genre.
ICC has been the supreme English language Bible commentary series throughout the twentieth century, and the recent additions to it...maintain its reputation as the commentary of choice, the first volume to be pulled from the shelf when a really tricky issue of exegesis or exposition is involved or an authoritative survey of historical and recent scholarly interpretation is sought on any particular passage.
