From being shipwrecked to being invaded by paratroopers, nothing scared off the villagers of Island Harbour. Island Harbour is a picturesque fishing village located on the north eastern part of Anguilla. The villagers are a colourful mix of Africans and British Europeans who get together for their love of sea life and food. As the fishermen blow their conch-shells to signal that the boats are coming in, the villagers gather on the bay waiting for the catch of the day, followed by a fry up of fish and Johnny cakes served on sea grape leaves. In 2009, the village introduced Festival Del Mar to celebrate its traditions and culture.
