While Rebecca knows she is destined for a life of servitude to a cruel master, she has no idea that life will be so short. Once she is no longer alive, however, she is determined to control her own destiny, no matter which mortal or creature of the night tries to hinder her. Her journey from a world of light and color to a world of darkness and black is long and treacherous, but she learns quickly of the sacrifices a woman must make to journey to the black.
