Recenzii
Written in clear and unpretentious prose, this book grapples with the complexities of the subject, whilst providing comprehensive coverage, clear exposition, and rich illustration from the case-law. Indeed, it is testament to the authority and well-deserved reputation of the book that it has been frequently cited by the higher courts . By structuring this book around core constitutional principles, the Handbook brings order and coherence to a diverse range of topics within this complex branch of public law. In doing so, this book merits attention beyond the capacious confines of the Bar and Bench. It also warrants deeper engagement from those who study judicial review from the heady heights of the Ivory Tower.
Previous editions of this Handbook have established such high standards that no endorsement is required from me.
This book has gone from strength to strength. As Lord Woolf, the former Master of the Rolls notes in his Foreword to the present edition, it continues to be an 'essential aid' to anyone engaged in public law litigation. The long list of decisions in which the book has been referred to - reproduced at the beginning of the volume - speaks volumes for its popularity.
