In addition to his talent as a fashion designer and creative director, Karl Lagerfeld was a brilliant caricaturist. This stunning coffee table book, “Karlikaturen” (published by Steidl), showcases his artistic expertise and creative genius, from a man who loved to parody those in power. As always, Lagerfeld finished each sketch with his trademark red border. Lagerfeld’s drawings reveal his sense of humour — a side of him which his closest friends knew well — and love for political satire, which fascinated him since he was just a teenager. Later in life, he was a monthly contributor of bespoke caricature sketches to F.A.Z, a supplement of the Frankfurter Allgemein Zeitung newspaper in Germany.
