On sojourns from his tour schedule, and on visits with friends, Kenny Rogers has captured the diverse beauty of America in photographs—from its remote Alaskan landscapes to the familiar landmarks of its national parks to the shining waterways that connect sea to sea. Rogers adds his voice to the photographic narrative with lyrics and musings, many specifically written for the book. 

Rogers studied under fine-art master landscape photographer John Sexton, himself a student of Ansel Adams, and their influence is seen in Rogers’ breathtaking landscapes, in color and black and white.
