Notă biografică

Shannon Martin Hodson (formerly Morehouse) is a masters-prepared health scientist with certification in holistic health counseling. She founded ShannonLynn Nutrition (SLN) in 2002 in New York City as she began her studies at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Since then, she has helped over 8,000 individuals improve their health through her one-on-one counseling and workshops. She has lectured at NYU's Medical School, Columbia University and at several renowned yoga studios and retreats. As a nutrition counselor, Shannon quickly learned that many health problems stem from stress, so she worked tirelessly on offering stress reduction recommendations to clients and organizing retreats that focused on the topic. Shannon is trained in mindfulness-based stress reduction and has been considered a life coach by many of her clients. Shannon is also an established writer (with a Bachelor's in English Literature and Rhetoric along with Sociology). While running her nutrition practice in New York City, she also worked as the professional running editor at New York Road Runners, where she was able to interview and write about running greats like Meb Keflezighi, Ryan and Sara Hall, Deena Kastor, Paula Radcliffe, and more. Shannon also had the great pleasure of writing nutrition articles for Rodale in Emmaus, PA. In 2009, Shannon brought SLN to CNY, the heart of New York State, where she was born and raised and plans to stay until she retires to a sunnier climate. Shannon is currently pursuing her health and wellness passion by offering stress reduction retreats. Shannon also offers individual and group counseling to as many people as possible using this book as a foundation. Shannon also works as a writer and editor for the Upper New York Conference of the United Methodist Church-her favorite stories to write are those that focus on people being the hands and feet of Jesus, fighting for social justice, engaging in disaster relief, feeding hungry communities, refurbishing houses for refugees, and so much more. She has a passion for humanity! In her free time, she can be found having tons of fun with her husband, daughter, border collies, and friends and family!
