Wounded Souls is a book about the traces of childhood, the need for storytelling and the mechanisms of memory, elements developed from the narration of Boris Cyrulnik's personal experiences up to his adolescence. A journey where one can find that the intellectual concerns of the author are already heading towards the boundaries of psychiatry. In this work, he narrates his experience in an asylum for the mentally ill, where he does his first internship, and where he will be shocked after seeing the isolation and bad practices to which patients are subjected: lobotomies, straitjackets, what he called psychotherapy of the devil.
