When an elderly widower, and widow, meet unexpectedly at a Warners Holiday Hotel, it is love at first sight. Having had long marriages, and still mourning the loss of their spouses, their sad lonely lives change forever as they begin an endearing and lasting romance. Deciding they are too old to remarry they agree to "live together apart" (a modern expression for keeping their own homes) and "SKI" (another modern expression meaning "to spend the kid's inheritance" ) Thus they embark on many adventures, in the UK and Europe, which they call "honeymoons." Their love affair grows even stronger as age and its problems catch up with them. The relationship never falters despite having to confront many hurdles. When death finally parts them, one is left with a broken and irreparable heart.
