Notă biografică
As an African American mother, wife, and advocate for social change, Deidra, by using her voice, identity, purpose, and lived experiences, finds herself on a mission to educate as many of our youth as possible about the value of investing in themselves and learning about their history.
Deidra reminds our youth, especially our Black and brown children, that our ancestors worked hard and brilliantly at paving the way so that we could work hard and diligently to pay it forward. She does not let us forget about the men and women who fought for our rights and liberties as they sacrificed their lives so that we could be free--free physically, free mentally, and free emotionally.
In 1996, as a single mom and after nine years of full-time employment with TIAA-CREF, a Manhattan-based company, Deidra quit her job as a commercial real estate paralegal to attend law school. In 1999, after graduating City University of New York School of Law, Deidra worked as a public defender with The Legal Aid Society in Bronx County. In 2004, nearly five years later, Deidra left The Legal Aid Society to establish her own firm, the Law Offices of Deidra R. Moore, P.C. Deidra advises and litigates on all aspects of matrimonial law, guardianship matters, trusts and estates law, elder law, and wrongful death cases.
After twenty years of being a practicing attorney, Deidra's career pivoted to becoming a published author. In 2022 she authored her first book, From Me to You: The Power of Storytelling and Its Inherent Generational Wealth--An African American Story.
