"Like cold water to a weary soul is the good news from a distant land." Proverbs 25:25 I am a fellow traveler who has passed through some dry and desert wastelands in my life, and I too have experienced the weariness and spiritual dehydration of these places. When I have needed that living water, cold and fresh, to restore my strength and hope and to renew me again, the Lord has been right there holding out that cup of cold drink through His Word. If that word "weary" describes what you're struggling with right now, my prayer is that the chapters in this book will be the cup that will bring the refreshing cold water to your weary soul. "The Spirit and the bride say, 'Come.' Let anyone who hears this say, 'Come.' Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life" (Revelation 22:17, NLT). Jesus is the living water, and He is inviting you to come and drink. "I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint" (Jeremiah 31:25, NIV).
