Charlie Clark, a retired journalist, writes the weekly "Our Man in Arlington" column for the F alls Church News-Press . In 2021, he published the first full biography of George Washington Parke Custis, an under-sung "child of Mount Vernon," with McFarland Books. He has written Arlington County Chronicles, Hidden History of Arlington County and L ost Arlington County, all published by The History Press. Formerly, he was senior correspondent for Government Executive Media Group and an editor or writer for the Washington Post, Congressional Quarterly, National Journal, Time-Life Books, Tax Analysts and the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges.
