In this short fiction novel, Author McLeod paints the story of crime and corruption in Atlanta resulting from the lure of large sums of money. By 1968, John Buckalew, "Buck," had become the Bureau Chief of the FBI's Atlanta field office. He and his agents get caught in the intriguing and violent world of illegal gambling. The late 60's, saw Atlanta in some unique transitions as a city. She was suddenly home to the Atlanta Braves who began their season that year; the Atlanta Hawks who began their first season that year; and the Atlanta Falcons who had arrived in 1966 as a new NFL franchise in Atlanta. With the arrival of professional sports teams and Atlanta's entry into the professional sports world, came the arrival of big-money gambling interests to the city. When big-time gambling arrives in a city, huge amounts of money can be made. Huge amounts of money always attract criminal elements ... like blood in water to sharks. Power struggles begin. Violence erupts as one powerful crime group exerts its power over another group. Innocent people get caught in the literal and figurative crossfire of competing criminals.
