Lifespinners

In ancient Greece, the three Fates gathered by the crib and spun a thread of life to determine when a new baby would die. In 2048, the select cluster of Wellowfern relies on its world-class research institute to prolong and enrich the lives of its residents through scientific advances in longevity, rejuvenation and mind/body enhancement.

Isabel is a loyal and influential member of the community, but she is disturbed by the slick and secretive merger with a shadowy tech company. She is also mistrustful of a new resident, who insinuates himself too easily and knows too much about her eventful past. Her concern grows as conflicting ideas about optimum lifespan, age reversal and radical life extension engender fierce debate, dodgy experiments, simmering rebellion and extreme plots to impose different visions of the future. When the high-level infighting turns dangerous, she is forced to confront her own complicity and work out how to protect her eccentric, misfit friends. And to make things worse, she is getting cryptic signals from an ex-business partner, who has old scores to settle.
