It's Johnny's first trip to the Dominican Republic, his parents native country. There he meets his cousin Luis, who introduces him to his friends Teofilo and Carlos. After spending an incredible summer together the boys are saddened as Johnny prepares to go back to New York. On the eve of Johnny's departure the boys bond was further deepened by a ruthless stranger who leaves them scarred for life. A stranger who later in life, through deceptive forces, is coerced into inadvertantly giving them an opportunity. An opportunity that leads to the advent of a highly addictive drug that forever changes the streets of America.
