Literary Criticism, Critical Theory and Post Colonial African Literature examines major issues in contemporary literary criticism and critical theory especially as they concern African literature. Both diachronic and synchronic in its approach, it addresses mainstream issues that come under the purvey of literary criticism and literary history, the aesthetics of African poetry and the relationship between African dramatists and dramatists of the Absurd. It also handles major topics in postcolonial African literature, including Poetry and Autobiography in Africa, Aesthetic problems in the Nigerian novel, Dangerous Trends in Contemporary African Criticism, and Nigerian war fiction. In addition, Literary Symbiosis, the Historical Novel in Africa, as well as Issues in the creation and criticism of children's literature are handled.
