Lewis has been involved in the ministry for twenty years. After receiving his license in 1992, he was later ordained by Rev. C. W. Goodwin in 1995. He received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Middle Tennessee State University, his master's of religious studies degree from Lipscomb University, and he is currently pursuing a doctorate of ministry degree from Ashland Theological Seminary of Ashland, Ohio.
