Years later when Lola was at the apex of her dancing career, and Buddy was nearly washed-up as a race-car driver, Lola's conscience got the best of her. So she told Buddy about their child. Because they both were celebrities, she made him promise to keep it a secret. It was a decision she would deeply regret, for it nearly destroyed her life.
