Notă biografică
For a long time the profiles about me had a professional summary of my work as a solicitor. On reflection, that is an important, but limited, perspective on me. The Lawyer I am a Solicitor working in a Corporate Recovery and Dispute Resolution team, assisting with matters involving a wide range of issues. I focus on outcomes with real benefit for the client. Sometimes that is achieved by negotiating. Sometimes it is achieved by litigating. I particularly work in the areas of insolvency, tax litigation and commercial litigation. The Writer I currently have one published e-book called "Look Before you Leap - A Guide for Aspiring Lawyers" in which I try to give students and recent graduates a real world look at some of the ins and outs of legal practice. There is a second book on its way which will be a more in depth look at the tools that people need to succeed as young professionals In addition to the books, however, I am committed to producing useful articles for distribution to newer professionals worldwide in an effort to help them understand some of the mental and practical challenges within their careers. Hopefully my articles (both on my blog - www.tipsforlawyers.com and elsewhere) will assist or encourage people to get the personal and professional skills necessary to succeed in their lives. The Rest Investing in the "next generation" of professionals is a big part of my life. Giving my time and energy to those who are going to come after me provides a fulfilling outlet for my experiences so far. I like to think that I'm old enough to offer a bit of wisdom, but young enough to remember the perspective I had as a young lawyer, and to use that combination to help out as best I can. Lots more I could say about me (husband, father, gardener, woodworker) - but I think that should do it for now!
