Notă biografică

Noah Diamond is a writer, performer, and designer. He is best known for his adaptation of I'LL SAY SHE IS, the lost Marx Brothers musical. In addition to restoring, adapting, and expanding Will B. Johnstone's book and lyrics, he played the role of Groucho Marx to great acclaim in the show's first-ever revival, at the New York International Fringe Festival in 2014 (directed by Trav S.D.) and Off Broadway at the Connelly Theater in 2016 (directed by Amanda Sisk). "Mr. Diamond plays Groucho," said the New York Times, "and he might as well BE Groucho." In addition to his many appearances as Groucho Marx, he is a founding member of the Marxfest Committee, which has produced numerous fan events in New York City, and has headlined the Freedonia Marxonia festival in Fredonia, New York. He has written and lectured extensively on the Marx Brothers and their work, and can be heard monthly as a co-host of The Marx Brothers Council Podcast. 400 YEARS IN MANHATTAN, Mr. Diamond's multimedia monologue about the history of New York City and his experiences as a tour guide, won Best Educational Show in the 2019 United Solo Theatre Festival. Directed by Amanda Sisk, the production enjoyed an extended run at Theatre Row on 42nd Street. A book based on the show, and also entitled 400 YEARS IN MANHATTAN, was published in 2019. Mr. Diamond and Ms. Sisk wrote, produced, and appeared in the Nero Fiddled shows, a series of musical political satires seen in New York from 2004 to 2008. In addition to LOVE MARCHES ON and 400 YEARS IN MANHATTAN, Mr. Diamond's books include GIMME A THRILL: THE STORY OF I'LL SAY SHE IS. His essay "Anatomy of a Moustache" appears in Matthew Coniam's THAT'S ME, GROUCHO!, and more of his work has been seen in Zelda magazine, Spaz Comics, and on the little-known internet. He lives in Washington Heights, Manhattan with Sisk and the cats. For a world of fun, visit noahdiamond.com.
