Notă biografică

Born Irene Johnson in 1929 in Nottingham, Irene won a scholarship to the Manning Grammar School just as the second world war began. As a 10 year old she evacuated herself to her grandmother's in Coddington Newark, became homesick and returned to witness the sadness and bombings in Nottingham. At 16 she became a Tax Officer for the Inland Revenue but after 5 years and a whirlwind failed romance converted to Catholicism, which was life changing. Then very happily she became a mannequin and window designer for the Co-op in the city. At 24 she married a man only 5 years younger than her father. Life wasn't easy but she adored him and bore 4 children who have become very successful. When he died after 35 years her life took a new exciting turning. She wrote this book to give hope to those who marry older men and to show family and friends how much her faith means to her, having now become ecumenical, embracing all Christian faiths and other faiths preaching goodness and love. Her book title "Love Never Gives Up" is taken from 1 Corinthians 13 v7 "Good News Bible." Her true story is an emotional journey through a long life. She is now 81 years old and in spite of sometimes overwhelming problems she "never gave up!"
