When Anneke Horvath Barrow from Long Island, nose-dives into a puddle of water on a cobble- stoned sidewalk in a quaint little town in Hungary, she is saved by Dean O'Connor from Canada, who lithely lifts her to her feet. Mortally embarrassed, instead of thanking him, she tells him to get lost. He doesn't shy away and the mishap develops into a sizzling relationship until she learns the truth.
