Luck of the Draw

Autor Douglas Tennant
en Limba Engleză Paperback
Luck of the Draw: Some choices we make, but many more are thrust upon us by fate and circumstances. More than not we blindly make choices just to regret them later. Sara was a product of such choices, hastily made before she was even conceived. She found herself as the daughter of kitchen help in the Kings personal kitchen, in the mid 1600s, at London's Royal Palace. Choices were made for her daily, but they allowed her an education and extensive training into weapons and tactics. At a time when only Royalty was allowed this privilege, circumstances were truly turned in her favor. Without the young Prince's insistence, she would have grown up an ignorant. However, as it turned out, it was this very training that brought about her unfortunate and timely removal from the Palace. Sara looses her first love just to find herself in somewhat of a nightmare. Then she is saved from her indenturment by one more hasty choice; where she voluntarily decides to join the fairly notorious pirate, Captain Faux. This too ends with the loss of another lover; just to find herself clinging to a huge rock in the ocean. She is perceived to be a mystical woman warrior of unknown origin and is taken in by an Indian tribe. After two years and with her previous training; Sara is more of an Indian than they are and is greatly respected among the tribe. Fate strikes one more devastating blow and Sara is forced to become a Buccaneer, just to keep from being hung. She sets out to recover a stolen English warship to purchase pardons for her and the many men who help her in this endeavor. In the process Sara learns much about her true past and is amazed at how she finds her one true love. Not having known him, her mother always told her that her father was of good blood.
