Lucy is a Minnesota farm girl who met Paul+Wellstone when he came to her small town on his campaign for senator. When a flood devastates her family's cropland, Lucy writes a letter to Paul asking for help. Paul visits the flood-stricken area and invites Lucy to Washington, DC, to help him seek funds for disaster relief. Later on, Lucy and her family are horrified by the plane crash that kills Paul. But the inspiration Lucy received from him has grown into something more and provides an affirming end to this uplifting story.
