Maiden and Mother: Prayers & Hymns to the Blessed Virgin Mary Throughout the Year

Many of the finest Christian compositions in prose and verse have been devoted to the Mother of God over the centuries. It is now very difficult to find them brought together either in their original language (mainly Latin) or in the vernacular. This book does so and thereby fills a significant gap in devotional literature.

The material is arranged in sections following the Church's year. The two months especially devoted to Mary, May and October, provide traditional prayers and hymns provided for each of the feasts of Mary included. Musical settings, in plainchant and modern notations, are supplied for many hymns and chants.
