Notă biografică
d. ellis phelps, poet-novelist and painter is the author of Making Room for George (Moon Shadow Sanctuary Press, 2016) and of the blog, formidable woman: toward a culture of gentleness. Her poetry, art, and essays appear online and in print, most recently in Tupelo Press 30/30 Project, March 2016; Energy Magazine Nov./Dec, 2016; Poet's Billow (Bermuda Triangle Prize, 2015); San Antonio peaceCenter; Sixfold; Jesus, Jazz, Buddhism; The San Antonio Express-News; Metaphysical Expressions #3; Texas Poetry Calendar; The San Antonio Current; New Texas, Windhover, Aires and elsewhere. She is currently seeking placement for her first full-length volume of ecstatic poetry, what holds her, and working to complete her second narrative volume, what she holds. Excerpts from both manuscripts appear in Sixfold. For forty years, she has facilitated experiences in the creative arts with students of all ages in galleries, libraries, museums, schools, churches and conferences. As poet-in-residence faculty for San Antonio's literary organization, Gemini Ink, and independently, she has facilitated the writing of and edited ten books of poetry by children and she has been the recipient of grants for this work from the Writer's League of Texas and the City of San Antonio Office of Cultural Affairs. Her visual art is represented by Intermezzo Gallery of Comfort, Texas. Currently, her work seeks to integrate the creative process as the healing process, working with individuals and groups toward body & soul wholeness. She holds a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin.
