JACK JACKSON wrote many books on Texas History, including Los Mesteños: Spanish Cattle Ranching in Texas, 1721--1821.ROBERT S. WEDDLE, a Fellow of the Texas Historical Association, is an independent historian with a background in journalism and publishing. He is author of The Wreck of The Belle, the Ruin of LaSalle, also published by Texas A&M University Press. He lives in Bonham, Texas.WINSTON DE VILLE, a historical researcher residing in Ville Platte, Louisiana, has written a number of publications on French Colonial Louisiana.
