This is a story set in Goa, a small State in India. It revolves around two families, one local and the other on holiday from England. Amidst a wealth of description of life in Goa as the holidaymakers explore the beaches, the towns and the culture, the story takes a dark turn when their young son comes under the influence of an evil paedophile on the run from England. His sister becomes enamoured with the son of a local cafe owner and has various adventures trying to snare him without much success The two families become closely involved when the young boy is seriously assaulted and the police are involved. They suspect the son from the restaurant as he has befriended the family. This is a distressing tale of how, even in the closest of families, disaster can be close at hand. Although not a very happy ending it does give some hope for the future of both families.
