Public țintă
- quantity surveying students
NB: Measurement is a core subject on all degree courses in Quantity Surveying, mainly at undergraduate level and also on some postgraduate conversion courses.
- In the UK alone there are c.30 QS degree courses, full–time, sandwich and part–time + distance learning; these are also run in former Commonwealth countries, e.g. Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, South Africa.
- This subject also forms an integral part of courses in construction management and all HNDs, HNCs and Foundation degrees in construction and surveying include it as a module.
- Many former Commonwealth countries have developed their own rules of measurement, based on UK practices. However there is an expectation that the New Rules of Measurement will have a much wider appeal than the UK alone. There is an opportunity for countries around the world to unite in adopting a single set of rules for the measurement of building works.
