Just as the Apostle Paul wrote to various churches throughout Asia Minor two thousand years ago, missionaries today likewise send out news letters to churches and supporters. These letters are not only to keep family and friends posted on what is happening out on the mission field, but to also ask for both financial and prayer supports as various challenges come their way. The following pages are news letters from Dick and Millie Dennis most are the "Nihon news letter" sent out on various occasions to keep the supporting churches, family and friends up to date. These letters start in 1964 prior to going to Japan as missionaries, reflecting back to 1961 when they gave their life to Christ. Several decades more of letters continue to pass on to those back at home the trials and the blessing of being missionary and raising children overseas. We must remember that unlike email traffic today, these first letters were sent back in the days when most mail went by ship and took several weeks to get reply's from. Phone calls were very rare and expensive so most messages took time. Follow along as the Dennis family shares their life with the challenges of the mission field from start to finish.
