Natasha Trethewey ist eine vielfach ausgezeichnete amerikanische Lyrikerin: u.a. Pulitzer Prize, Guggenheim Fellowship, Puchcart Prize, US-Poet Laureate. Sie war Robert W. Woodruff Professorin für Englisch and Creative Writing an der Emory University in Atlanta, wo sie von 2001 bis 2017 lehrte. Heute ist Trethewey Mitglied des Board of Trustees und Professorin für Englisch an der Northwestern University.
