Primary market: (US) The main market for this text will be predominantly in the US where the majority of these courses are taught.
In the US there are currently 150 universities who teach  Meteorology degree programmes.  90 are listed as offering a bachelors degree.  The majority of  these programs that offer a bachelors degree will run mesoscale meteorology classes.  The authors estimate that of these 90 approximately 75 would teach Mesoscale Meteorology with between 20–30 students per class.
In the UK and rest of Europe the market is a lot smaller with only a few universities teaching mesoscale meteorology. It is expected that this book would be referred to as a reference text only although the market is growing. The authors also plan to make the examples used throughout the book more global to appeal to a broader market.
Secondary Market
We also expect interest from National Weather Service employees, research scientists, and general weather enthusiasts.
